Costa de Sesimbra frente à praia e ribeiro do Cavalo. Os cortes na rocha, em primeiro plano, são naturais, mas o corte ao centro, ao fundo, é de uma grande pedreira de calcário. Fotografia enviada por Artur Pereira | ∫ | Coast of Sesimbra at "Ribeiro do Cavalo". The cut rock close to the sea was shaped by Nature, but the cut in the background was made by a limestone quarry — and a whole hill has disappeared! Photo by Artur Pereira. |

Wow! This would make a beautiful postcard or enlarged print.
That is a lovely photo. I wondered if it was volcanic rock, but a limestone quarry makes sense!

Surrealistic photo! But very nice. I guess to played on the constrasts to get this effect. Well done!
It is a very inviting scene. I especially enjoy seeing the bird (gull?) soaring above the water.
que cores fabulosas
Sesimbra sempre teve cores lindas, a natureza foi muito gentil com ese cantinho da terra
tenho gostado muito das fotos aqui colocadas

This photo has a brilliance different from what we usually get with standard cameras. But, in fact, different cameras "see" different colours, depending on the lens, the filters, the film/chip. But the eyes of each person also see differently the same landscape, although we won't be able to compare those inner images. We assume that everybody sees the same things the same way, but it is impossible.
The birds are seagulls, and they seem to be disturbed by the passing boat. Guess what: in my youth we made some hippie (well, kind of) camping on that beach. At one point, all the other food was gone and we survived for two days eating pears, that's how lazy you could get. But I remember also, younger than that, fishing with my father, on this boat, and going ashore on this beach to grill and eat very tasty fish. See a recent photo of that same beach.
like rambling : whaou
